Community guidelines & terms of use

• Only review businesses you have personally tried to contact as a customer.
• Base scores on your actual experience, not on things you heard second-hand.
• Don't review your own business, employer, competitors, family, or friends.
• Don't accept payment, discounts, or free products in exchange for a review.

Reviews and profile content must not:

• Contain hate speech, slurs, or content targeting people based on race, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or nationality.
• Threaten, harass, dox, or incite violence against any person or business.
• Use graphic sexual content, or content that sexualises minors in any form.
• Be gratuitously offensive, obscene, or written purely to insult rather than inform.

• No repeated, duplicate, or bulk-posted reviews.
• No advertising, referral links, affiliate codes, or off-topic promotion.
• Don't create multiple accounts to boost or attack a business.
• Businesses may not solicit fake reviews or offer incentives for positive ratings.

• Don't publish anyone's personal details — phone numbers, home addresses, emails, ID numbers, order references.
• Don't name individual employees in a way that could identify or harm them. Refer to roles ("the manager", "the support agent") instead.
• Only share information about yourself that you're comfortable being public.

• Only post text, logos, and images you own or have the right to use.
• Don't post confidential materials, leaked documents, or NDA-covered information.
• Don't post content that is defamatory, unlawful, or that violates any third party's rights.

• Business details you submit must be accurate and refer to a real, operating business.
• Only claim a business you are genuinely authorised to represent — you'll be asked for your name and role in the business.
• Verified status can be revoked at any time if we believe a claim is illegitimate.
• Business listings may be removed from the platform if we determine that:
  • the business does not exist, has closed, or the listing is a duplicate;
  • the listing was created to attack a competitor, harass a person, or spread misinformation;
  • the business or an owner-controlled account has posted or solicited fake reviews;
  • the business repeatedly ignores our guidelines despite warnings;
  • the listing contains unlawful content, or we're legally required to remove it;
  • the business asks us to remove it and we can confirm the request is legitimate.
• When a listing is removed, any verified owner is emailed with the reason so they have a chance to respond or appeal.

If you see a review that breaks these rules, use the Report link on the review. Our team reviews reports and may edit or remove content that violates the guidelines. We aim to be transparent, but we won't always explain individual moderation decisions.

• You can close your own account at any time from your account page. Closing your account permanently deletes your reviews and unverifies any businesses you had claimed.
• We may warn, suspend, or permanently close accounts that repeatedly break these rules — with or without notice, depending on severity.
• Serious violations (harassment, illegal content, coordinated fake reviews) can result in immediate closure and, where appropriate, being reported to the relevant authorities.
• Once an account is closed by us for a rules violation, the person behind it may not create a new account without our written permission.

HoldForHuman is provided "as is". Reviews reflect the opinions of the people who wrote them, not the platform. We don't guarantee that any business will respond, resolve issues, or match the experience described in reviews.

We may update these guidelines from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated version.
